CIRCULAR RAILWAY - Sanctioned Projects

TO MAJERHAT
This is extension of Circular Railway from Princepghat to Majerhat.
Out of total 5.8 Kms. track, 3.2 Km will be on elevated structure
and rest will be on the ground. With this extension, Circular Railway
will cover the periphery of entire Kolkata and it will be of great
help to the people of South Kolkata, specially Behala, Budge-Budge
etc.

Extension
from Tollygunge to Garia The section will mostly be on an elevated
structure and the alignment will run along the Tolly Nullah. This
will be beneficial for the people of Kolkata. It will also connect
Eastern Railway at Garia and will bring South 24-Parganas closer
to Kolkata's Central Business District. This will reduce the enormous
pressure on Sealdah South Suburban Section.
