1. In the course of Pre-bid conference pertaining to the work held on 01.04.2010, a query was raised whether Bank Guarantee is acceptable as Security Deposit. This was denied during Pre-bid conference. However, the matter has been checked up further. Railway Board's letter No. 2007/CE-1/CT/18 dt. 07.03.2008, Para 2 © (ii) read as under:
“In case of contracts of value Rupees 50 Crore and above, irrevocable Bank Guarantee can also be accepted as a mode of obtaining Security Deposit.”
Since the instant tender is of value more than Rs. 50 Crores, the same comes within the ambit of these instructions. Hence, Security Deposit is acceptable in the form of an irrevocable Bank Guarantee. As such, Clause 1.14 (B) (c) from page – 16 to 17 of the Tender Document may now be read as “Security Deposit will be recovered from running bills of the contractor or, may be submitted by the contractor in the form of an irrevocable Bank Guarantee.”

GENERAL

The correction slip forms part of the Tender Document of Tender No. Civil/1885 and therefore must be returned by the tenderer duly signed, in token of acceptance while submitting this tender as in the case of all pages of tender document. However, in case the tenderer fails to do so, it will not be construed adversely against that tenderer.
