| 1. Eligibility Criteria :- The tenderers should fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below:- |
|
The Tenderer should have completed at least one similar single work i.e works related to Permanent Way inside underground Tunnel/surface/yard having high voltage conducting rail at rail level for a minimum value of 35% of the advertised tender value of the work in last three financial years i.e. current year and three previous financial years.

(i) |
Similar nature of works physically completed within the qualifying period i.e. the last three financial years and current financial year will only be considered in evaluating the eligibility criteria.

(ii) |
The total value of similar nature of works
completed during the qualifying period, and
not the payments received within qualifying
period alone, will be considered.

| 2. |
Total contract amount received by the tenderer during the last three financial years and in the current financial year should be a minimum 150% of the advertised tender value. Tender Committee will satisfy themselves about the authenticity of the certificates produced by the tenderers to this effect which may be an attested certificate from the employer/client, audited balance sheet duly certified by the Chartered Accountant etc.

Tenderer must enclose relevant certificates in support of above eligibility criteria in absence of which their tender may be treated as incomplete and may be summarily rejected. |

| 3. |
Tender document in person or through their authorized representative may be obtained from the Office of the Chief Engineer, Metro Railway, Kolkata on any working day during 10-30hrs. to 17.30hrs. from 20.06.08 to 07.07.08 on payment of Rs.3,000/- (Rupees three thousand ) only non-refundable chargeable to allocation No.9365299 deposited with FA&CAO, (Cash & Pay), Metro Railway, Kolkata – 700 071 and on production of the Money Receipt for such payment.

| 4. |
Tender document can be down loaded from web site http:/www.kolmetro.com. The cost of tender form has also to be paid in the shape of demand draft issued in favour of FA & CAO, Metro Railway, Kolkata and to be enclosed with the tender form while dropping the tender document. In case the tender is not accompanied with valid demand draft for the cost of tender document, the tender will be summarily rejected . |

| 5. |
The Tender
should be accompanied by Earnest Money of
Rs.68,960/- in any of the following forms, failing which the tender
shall be summarily rejected. |

i) |
The cash
to be deposited with the FA&CAO, Metro Railway,
Metro Rail Bhavan, (1st floor) , 33/1, J.L. Nehru Road,
Kolkata-700 071 creditable to allocation 000845-07(O&M)
and the receipt submitted along with tender documents
. |
ii) |
Deposit
Receipt, Pay Order and Demand Drafts, these forms of
earnest money could be either of the State Bank of INDIA
or any of the Nationalized Bank. |
iii) |
Deposit
Receipt’s executed by the scheduled Banks (other
than the State Bank of India or any of the Nationalized
Banks) approved by the Reserve Bank of India for this
purpose. |

The Deposit
Receipts, Pay Order and Demand Drafts referred to in
Para –5(ii) & (iii) should be made in favour
of the Financial Adviser & Chief Accounts Officer,
Metro Railway, Kolkata. Tenders accompanied with Earnest
Money in any form other than that mentioned in item-
5(i),(ii)&(iii) above will be treated as having
been received without Earnest Money. |

| 6. |
Cheques
even if guaranteed by a bank will not be accepted toward
earnest money and therefore will be liable to be summarily
rejected |

| 7. |
a) |
No previous earnest money or Security deposit etc. submitted earlier in connection with any tenders floated by this project what-so-ever will be adjusted towards the present tender nor any such request or correspondence will be entertained.

|
| |
b) |
The Tenderer shall keep the offer open for a period of 120 days from the date fixed for opening the tender, it being understood that the tender documents have been sold / issued to tenderers and the tenderer is being permitted to tender in consideration of the stipulation of his part that after submitting his tender he will not resile from his offer or modify the terms and conditions thereof in a manner not acceptable to the Metro Railway, kolkata. Should the Tenderer fail to observe or comply with the forgoing stipulation the full amount of Rs.68,960/- shall be forfeited to the Metro Railway, kolkata.

c) |
Tender received with less than 120 days validity time shall be liable to be rejected |

| 8. |
Tender complete with all documents are to be submitted in a sealed envelope superscribing the name of work and should be deposited in the Special Tender Box allotted for this purpose in the office of Chief Engineer, Metro Railway on or before 12.00 Hrs. on 08-07-2008. Tender duly sealed and superscribed as above may also be sent through registered post so as to reach the Chief Engineer, Metro Railway, Metro Rail Bhavan (8 th floor), 33/1, J.L.Nehru Road, kolkata-71 not later than 12.00 Hrs. on 08-07-2008. The Tender Box will be sealed exactly at 12.00 Hrs. on 08-07-2008 and will be opened at 12.30 hrs. on the same day in the presence of such of the Tenderers or their representative as may be present in the office at that time. Any delayed/ late Tender received after 12.00 hrs. (Not necessarily after 12.30 hrs.) will be rejected at the sole discreation of the Metro Railway |

No Tender Forms will be sent

| 10. |
The Tender Form is not transferable
|

| 11. |
In case date of opening of
tenders as mentioned above is declared to be holiday,
the tenders shall be received and opened on the next working
day at the same time and venue. |
| |
|
| 12. |
Railway reserves its right
to either cancel the tender or reject any or all the tender
without assigning any reason thereof |
