NOTICE INVITING TENDER

sealed tender in the prescribed form are invited on behalf of the President of India from the eligible contractor for the works detailed below:-

Tenderer should have completed at least one similar single work i.e” Maintenance and Upkeep of Ballastless Track (BLT) & Track bed” for minimum value of 35% of the advertised tender value of the work in last three financial years (i.e. current year and three previous financial years).

Similar nature of works physically completed within the qualifying period i.e. the last three financial years and current financial year will only be considered in evaluating the eligibility criteria.

ii)

The total contract amount received by the Tenderer during the last three financial years and current financial year should be a minimum 150% of the advertised tender value. Tender Committee will satisfy themselves about the authenticity of the certificates produced by the Tenderers to this effect which may be an attested certificate from the employer /client, Audited Balance Sheet duly certified by the Chartered Accountant etc.

Tenderer must enclose relevant certificates in support of above eligibility criteria in absence of which their tender may be liable to be rejected.

Tender document in person or through their authorized representative may be obtained from the office of the Chief Engineer , Metro Railway , Kolkata on any working day during 10.30 hour to 17.30 hr from 13.07.2010 to 27.07.2010 on payment of Rs.3,000/- only non-refundable chargeable to allocation no 9365299 deposited with FA&CAO. (Cash & Pay), Metro Railway Kolkata-7000071 and on production of money receipt for such payment.

Tender document can be down loaded from web site http:/www.kolmetro.com. The cost of tender form has also to be paid in the shape of demand draft issued in favour of FA& CAO, Metro Railway, Kolkata and to be enclosed with the tender form while dropping the tender document. In case the tender is not accompanied with valid demand draft for the cost of tender document , the tender will be summarily rejected.

The tender should be accompanied by Earnest Money of Rs. 83,710/- in cash or in the form of deposit receipts, pay orders or demand drafts executed by state bank of India or any of the nationalized banks or by a scheduled bank, failing which the tender shall be summarily rejected.

The Deposit Receipts, Pay Orders and Demand Drafts referred above should be made in favour of Financial Adviser & Chief Accounts Officer, Metro Railway, Kolkata. Tenders accompanied with Earnest Money in any form other than that mentioned above will be treated as having been received without Earnest Money.

5.0

(a) No previous Earnest Money or Security Deposit etc. submitted earlier in connection with any tender(s) floated by this project what-so-ever will be adjusted towards the present tender nor any such request or correspondence will be entertained.

b) The tenderer shall keep the offer open for a period of 120 days from the date fixed for opening the tender, it being understood that the Tender Documents have been sold/issued to tenderers and the tenderer is being permitted to tender in consideration of the stipulation on his part that after submitting his tender he will not resign from his offer or modify the terms and conditions thereof in a manner not acceptable to the Metro Railway, Kolkata. Should the tenderer fails to observe or comply with the foregoing stipulation the full amount of Rs.83,710/- shall be forfeited to the Metro Railway, Kolkata.

c) Tender if received with less than 120 days validity time shall be liable to be rejected.

Tender complete with all documents are to be submitted in a sealed envelope superscribing the name of work and should be deposited in the Special Tender Box allotted for this purpose in the office of the Chief Engineer, Metro Railway on or before 12.00 hrs. of 28.07.2010 . Tenders duly sealed and superscribed as above may also be sent through registered post so as to reach the Chief Engineer, Metro Railway, Metro Rail Bhavan (8 th floor), 33/1, J.L.Nehru Road, Kolkata-700071 not later than 12.00 hrs. on 28.-07.2010. However, Metro Railway will not be responsible for any delay in receipt of Tender Document through Post. The Tender Box will be sealed exactly at 12.00 hr. on 28.07.2010. and will be opened at 12.30 hrs, on the same day in the presence of such of the tenderer or their representative as may be present in the office at that time. Any delayed/late tender received after 12.00 hr. (not necessarily after 12.30 hr.) rejected at the some discretion of the Metro Railway.

In case the date of opening of the tender as mentioned above is declared to be holiday, the tenders shall be received and opened on the next working day at the same time and venue.

No tender document will be sent by post.

Metro Railway reserves the right to either cancel the tender or reject any or all the tenders without assigning any reason thereof.
